About the Baker

Baking is Donnell Chambers’ passion. He enjoys seeing the smiles that accompany satisfied taste buds. Prior to joining Not Just Desserts, Donnell cooked up a Web-based baking company—sharing his home-baked goods, including his famous orange pumpkin spice cake recipe with sweet lovers throughout Kansas City. In the kitchen for more than 30 years, Donnell has been featured on the Martha Stewart Living Show. After his appearance, his original orange pumpkin spice cake recipe was the most requested recipe by viewers of the show. Donnell looks forward to sharing his recipes with customers of Not Just Desserts.

A little about the owners

Not Just Desserts is owned and operated by Karen and Ray Van Jones. Ray retired from the Examiner newspaper and is an active member of the Independence and the Lee's Summit Chambers. Karen is president of the Lee’s Summit Kiwanis Club. They look forward to treating you to Not Just Desserts!
